Here are a few other things that didn’t really fit anywhere, but I’m proud of them anyway.
I’m an agronomist
“I’m an agronomist” is a recruitment campaign a team of us put together at Iowa State University’s Agronomy Department. It was successful in many aspects including a doubling of undergraduate students during its first four years of running. I wrote about the campaign in the Journal of Natural Resources & Life Science Education. The success was recognized by awards from the Iowa State University, College of Agriculture & Life Sciences and the Association for Communication Excellence.
Me in a national magazine?
That’s right; I make a cameo appearance in the June, 2006 edition of Scouting magazine.
United Nations Association contest
In 2002, I had the honor of being a part of a student team that won a Sustainable Futures Planning contest by the Iowa United Nations Association. Press Release

The image of me in Scouting magazine wasn’t my first appearence in the media. The Des Moines Register did a story on a project my class did when I was in the 4th grade. That’s me in the plaid shirt, kind of sitting on the desk.
